Water from helicopter to control fire in Shivapuri

KATHMANDU: SUNDAY, APRIL 11, 2021 – Helicopters have been used to control the fire in Shivapuri-Nagarjun National Park. Attempts have been made to control the fire by pouring water through a Simrik Air helicopter.

After the fire broke out on Sunday afternoon, fire brigades of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Budhanilkantha Municipality, Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force reached the spot to control the fire. However, the fire was not brought under control and a helicopter was called.

Anil, executive director of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, said that the swimming pool of Hotel Sabrina and Melamchi drinking water were used to fill the water.
