Supply of second phase vaccine
KATHMANDU: SATURDAY, APRIL 10, 2021 – In a telephone conversation between Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar today, it was mentioned that India had agreed to resume the supply of blocked vaccines to Nepal.
It has been agreed to exchange continuous support in fighting and defeating the Covid-19 epidemic. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Ministers of the two countries discussed the supply of vaccines, including increasing cooperation in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic.
Foreign Minister Gyawali thanked the Government of India for providing one million doses of Covishield vaccine in Nepal’s fight against the Covid epidemic. He also requested the Minister of External Affairs of India to facilitate the supply of additional vaccines required for the second dose of vaccine to Nepalis at high risk of Covid, according to a statement issued by the Ministry.
In response, the External Affairs Minister assured India’s continued support and assistance in Nepal’s efforts to overcome the epidemic, including the supply of vaccines.
