New Diamond and Police in the final of RBB NVA Cup

KATHMANDU: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 7, 2021 – New Diamond Sports Club has entered the final of the fifth edition of RBB NVA Cup National Women’s and Men’s Club League Volleyball by defeating departmental Nepal APF Club.

New Diamond reached the final by defeating title contenders APF Club 3-1 in the final match of the league stage on Wednesday at the Covered Hall in Tripureshwor. In the first set, Diamond won 25-21. In the second set, New Diamond won 26-24 and lost 14-25 in the third set. In the fourth set, New Diamond defeated APF 25-21 and won the set 3-1.

New Diamond has scored 13 points from 5 games. Police in second place has scored 11 points from 5 games.

Departmental Nepal Police Club has also entered the women’s final. In the last match of the league stage, the Police defeated the departmental Tribhuvan Army Club 3-0 in a straight set to secure a place in the final. Police will now compete with the winners of the title Nepal APF Club and Honganji New Diamond Sports Club on Thursday. Police won the match 26-24, 25-17 and 28-26 to reach the final.

There are 7 men’s and 6 women’s teams participating in the competition. After the league, the top two teams will compete for the title. The winner of both the men’s and women’s competitions will get Rs 300,000. The second place team will get Rs 175,000, the third place team will get Rs 75,000 and the fourth place team will get Rs 37,500.
