One arrested with 1 kg of gold hidden inside a rice dog

KATHMANDU: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 7, 2021 – A man has been arrested from Tribhuvan International Airport while smuggling about 1 kg of gold from Dubai.

Senior Superintendent of Airport Police Rajesh Nath Bastola said that Prakash Mahara of Dhanusha was arrested by a joint operation team of Airport Police and Airport Customs.

“Prakash Mahara was arrested with 884 grams of gold plate and 50 grams of bala,,” Bastola told Makalu Khabar.

When the weight of the cooker looked suspicious, the police opened the cooker and found gold. He said that the gold has been handed over to the customs and the police have taken Mahara under control and started investigation.
