Sankata defeats Manang Marsyangdi in semifinals
KATHMANDU: TUESDAY, APRIL 6, 2021 – Sankata Club has secured the semi-final of Aaha Rara Gold Cup by defeating defending champion Manang Marsyangdi.
The competition held at Pokhara Stadium on Monday ended with the Manang Marsyangdi Club making a proud image in Pokhara by winning the Gold Cup from the first match in Pokhara. With one minute left in the first half of a very competitive match, the decisive goal scored by Fofana Fode ensured a meeting with departmental rivals APF in the semifinals.
Sankata’s Amit Tamang gave a pass through a free kick and Fofana made the last four trips possible.
This is probably the first time that Manang Marsyangdi has been eliminated from the first match at Pokhara. Manang Marsyangdi has won the Aaha Rara Gold Cup six times in Pokhara.
Tuesday’s final quarterfinal match will be between Ruslan Three Star and Nepal Police Club.
