KABUL: TUESDAY, APRIL 6, 2021 – At least 17 soldiers were killed in separate attacks across Afghanistan on Sunday night, a local war monitoring group said on Monday.

Most of those killed were in the southern province of Helmand. Eleven soldiers were killed and 13 others were captured during the overnight clashes in the province.

The military has claimed that Afghan Taliban insurgents were involved in the attack.

At least two policemen were killed and eight others were injured when a car bomb snatched by Taliban insurgents exploded at a police station that day.

The Taliban, which has been in power since 2001, has been killing government security personnel and civilians not affiliated with the Taliban in recent months.
