Floods in Indonesia and East Timor: 71 killed

KATHMANDU: MONDAY, APRIL 5, 2021 – At least 71 people have been killed in floods in Indonesia and East Timor. More than 40 people are missing in the floods.

The death toll could rise further, officials said. A spokesman for Indonesia’s disaster management department said the situation could worsen over the years due to bad weather.

The department said people may have been buried when the house collapsed due to the floods. Rescue work is currently underway.
