Two killed, seven injured in jeep crash
KATHMANDU: SUNDAY, APRIL 4, 2021 – Two persons have died in a jeep accident at Rangrung Bhir in Barpak Salikot Municipality-2 of Gorkha district. According to Prakash Dahal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Gorkha, the jeep (Na 5 Cha 3298) had met with an accident at around 7:00 pm on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Thakur Duwadi, 48, and Rameshwar Neupane, 50, of Lamjung Dudhpokhari Municipality-2, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Dahal. Seven others have been injured in the accident. The condition of two of the injured is critical, said Krishna Dhakal, Information Officer at Gorkha Hospital.
The injured have been identified as Bishnu Neupane, 31, and Anil Marhattha, 28, of Dudhpokhari-2, Lamjung. He said that both of them were sent to Chitwan at night for further treatment.
The injured have been identified as Santosh Tamang, 20, of Lamjung Benshishahar Municipality-10, Amrit Duwadi, 18, of Dudhpokhari Municipality-2, Bishnu Duwadi, 30, Bishnu Duwadi, 29, and Sushil Naral of Tanahu’s Beas Municipality-1. . He said that the injured Naral was the head of Dudhpokhari village education branch.
Police said that the jeep fell about 200 meters from the road. After receiving information about the incident, a police team under the command of Inspector of Police from Area Police Office, Jowari reached the spot and rescued the injured. They had reserved a jeep for Barpak and on their way back they met with an accident at Rangrung. The incident is being further investigated, police said. – RSS
