KATHMANDU: FRIDAY, APRIL 2, 2021 – Myanmar’s situation is in danger of spiraling out of control. The UN Resident Representative there has warned that the situation could spiral out of control.

Resident Representative Andrew Kirkwood warned that the security situation could worsen. He asserted that his confession had been obtained through torture and that his confession had been obtained through torture.

According to him, 90 percent of the more than 500 people killed in Myanmar’s military coup have been shot dead. Many of them were shot in the head and the shooters were deployed during the day, Kirkwood said.

Strong condemnation
The United Nations Security Council has strongly condemned the violence against peaceful protesters. A day earlier, at an emergency meeting of the council, China again rejected a proposal to impose sanctions on Myanmar’s military leaders.

The Chinese ambassador to the United Nations has claimed that the move would only increase tensions. An emergency meeting of the council was called at the request of Britain after more than 100 protesters were killed on the same day last Saturday. According to Save the Children, at least 43 children have been killed by the military.

The youngest victim was found to be 6 years old, the organization said. According to a local observer group, the death toll has risen to 536 so far.

Serious charges against Suu Kyi
Meanwhile, leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been accused of violating the country’s privacy law. Four of his accomplices, including Suu Kyi, were charged last year with up to 14 years in prison.

The military seized power in February after Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy (NLD) won a majority in the general election. -BBC
