Ganesman Singh Memorial Fide Rating Intelligence Competition

KATHMANDU: FRIDAY, APRIL 2, 2021 – The Ganesman Singh Memorial FIDE Rating Chess Competition will be organized by Lalitpur Sports Club and Tamrakar Samaj from Chaith 20 to 26 at Tamrakar Samaj Bhawan in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur.

Lalitpur Sports Club informed about the competition by holding a press conference in Kathmandu on Thursday.

The winner of the competition will receive a Yamaha Saluto motorcycle prize. The runner-up will get Rs 60,000 while the third and fourth place winners will get Rs 30,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively.

The competition will be on a league-low knockout basis. Four players will enter the semifinals from the seventh round of the Swiss League. The rest of the players will have to play until the ninth round according to the Swiss league system. A prize of Rs. 226,400 has been arranged for this phase. Accordingly, the winner of the league will get 25,000, the second will get 15,000 and the third will get 10,000.

Similarly, cash prizes are available for the 4th to 15th. Cash prizes will also be given to 1800 rated, 1600 rated Mooney, Women, Unrated, Veteran, U-16 and West Lalitpur players, according to the organizers. 150 players will participate in the competition.
