MOSCOW: THURSDAY, APRIL 1, 2021 – Vaccines have also been developed for animals against COVID-19. Russia has developed the first animal vaccine, according to senior government officials.

Russia’s agricultural regulator on Wednesday said the vaccine was suitable for use. The company that developed the vaccine had been testing it since last October. They tested the vaccine on dogs, cats and other animals.

The test confirmed that the vaccine was not harmful to animals, officials involved in the trial said. “The vaccine has been shown to be 100 per cent useful and effective because it helps fight the corona virus by producing antibodies in the animal’s body,” said a health official.

Officials say the use of all animals will begin this month. They further added that vaccines could be made available to other countries as needed. The vaccine was developed by Russia’s Federal Animal Health Center. -Sinhwa
