KATHMANDU: SUNDAY, MARCH 28, 2021 – The Holi festival, which is celebrated on the day of Falgun Shukla Purnima, is being celebrated in the Himalayan and hilly districts today. With the arrival of spring, the Fagu festival, which brings a message of mutual harmony, is traditionally celebrated today with various colors.

Until a few years ago, the Holi festival was celebrated with pomp and circumstance in the Kathmandu Valley. The three district administrations of the Kathmandu Valley have urged not to play Holi in public places saying that the rising corona infection may increase.

Administration also urged not to play Holi in public places and stay indoors. Accordingly, the brightness of Holi is less this year as compared to previous years.

Although other areas of the valley look mostly deserted, Holi is in full swing in Basantapur. As per the government’s directive, traffic checking has also been increased.
