Three health camps of KMC in Nuwakot, 8,000 patients benefited

KATHMANDU: SUNDAY, MARCH 28, 2021 – Eight thousand patients have benefited from the free health camps run by Kathmandu Medical College [KMC] at three places in Nuwakot.

The camp was conducted for three days in Suryagadhi village municipality of Nuwakot, two days in Tadi village municipality and three days in Dupcheshwor village municipality, according to KMC.

KMC General Manager Narayan Dahal informed that 7,966 patients were treated free of cost in the camps run in the three municipalities. According to him, 3,402 patients in Suryagadhi, 2,947 in Tadi and 1,617 in Dupcheshwor have received health care from the camp.

ECG of 1,053 people, video X-ray of 1,356 people and lab tests of 1,604 people have been done in all the three camps. Similarly, 69 people have undergone general surgery in the camp.

A patient with hydrocele has also undergone complex surgery. Similarly, the teeth of 164 people have been removed, according to KMC. Twenty-five people who could not be operated on in the camp have been called to the hospital.

They will be operated on at a special discount. Now, KMC has stated that it is preparing to conduct camps at Zero Kilometer of Kavre on Chaith 20, Mulpani of Kathmandu on 23 and Kushadevi of Kavrepalanchok on 30.

Even before this, KMC has run free health camps in different districts. After social worker Dr. Sunil Sharma assumed the responsibility of KMC chairman, KMC has been continuing to run free health camps in different districts recently.
