Public holiday to watch MayorCup

PHUNGLING: FRIDAY, MARCH 26, 2021 – The city has given a public holiday to go to watch the game on the first day of the Inter-Municipality Mayor Cup organized by Phungling Municipality of Taplejung.

Mayor Chhatrapati Pyakurel said that the municipality has given a public holiday on the first day of the Mayor’s Cup volleyball game. Bam Bahadur Bhattarai (Tara), deputy chief of the municipality, said that the inter-municipal mayor running cup men’s volleyball tournament will be held from today to Chaith 15.

In the inaugural session on the first day of the Mayor’s Cup, the municipality has announced that all community offices within the municipality, ward office, health post and municipality will be closed.

Mayor Pyakurel said that the second edition of Mayor’s Running Cup Volleyball was organized with the objective of enhancing social harmony and promoting the sports sector by preserving and promoting culture and tradition. Badri Kumar Karki, chief administrative chief of the municipality, said that Rs 1.5 million has been allocated in the current fiscal year for the campaign to link tourism development and promotion with the sports sector.

In order to participate in the Mayor’s Cup, nine municipalities of Taplejung will be able to participate in the Mayor’s Cup. The Chairman’s Cup has already been launched. The winner of the Mayor’s Cup will get 221,100 and the Running Cup.

The runner-up team will get Rs. 111,100 and a cup while the best two teams will be given a cup with Rs. 33,000 each. The municipality has stated that it will also provide cash to the best seven players in various disciplines. -RSS
