Why did the court summon Alia Bhat?
AGENCY: FRIDAY, MARCH 26, 2021 – Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and two writers have been ordered by an Indian court to appear in court on a defamation issue
The court has summoned the person associated with Gangubai Kathiawadi film. The film is based on Hussain Zaidi’s novel Mafia Queens of Mumbai. It includes the life story of Gangubai, who runs a house in Mumbai.
The film is set to release on July 30. Baburao Shah, an adopted son of the late Gangubai, has filed a defamation issue. Shah has accused his mother of damaging her dignity and violating her privacy and self-esteem.
Alia and others have been ordered to appear before the court on May 21. Shah claims that some facts in the film are wrong. He says that Gangubai has no connection with the underworld.
Gangubai’s room was in Kamathipura, Mumbai. Residents of Kamathipura have said that the film has tarnished their image and indicated that the people here are involved in prostitution.
