MYAGDI: THURSDAY, MARCH 25, 2021 – In Myagdi, those coming from neighboring countries and other countries will be kept in quarantine for 10 days. The district administration office has decided to stay in quarantine after five people returning from India were found to have carcinoma.

An all-party meeting held at the District Administration Office on Wednesday prepared 15-point decision and criteria for preparation, vigilance and management to prevent the spread of corona virus.

The meeting has made it mandatory for those entering the district from abroad to stay in quarantine for 10 days. Chief District Officer Ganesh Bahadur Adhikari informed that it has been decided to keep those entering the district from abroad on mandatory quarantine as the second wave of corona has started in India and its impact will be felt in Nepal as well.

Four workers from India and a prisoner of the district jail were confirmed to be infected with the corona virus on Tuesday.

Eknarayan Lamsal, acting head of the health office in Myagdi, said that the decision was taken after the corona was confirmed among the workers from India.

According to him, the meeting has decided to fully implement the health standards, mandatory use of masks, quarantine at the local level, re-opening of isolation rooms and widening the scope of PCR testing.

Similarly, it has been decided to make the health check-up at Beni Hospital systematic and make it mandatory for every private and public organization to wash their hands with soap and water.

As the risk of corona infection increases, congestion programs in the district will also be tightened. According to the District Administration Office, action will be taken against the company and the person involved if the workers are not coroned and tested.

Some delegates at the meeting disagreed with the decision, saying that the decision to keep foreigners in quarantine but to control crowds and fairs was ignored.

Chairman of Rastriya Janamorcha Myagdi Chhabi Bishwakarma has expressed dissatisfaction over the directive and request issued by the federal government to support the fair in Myagdi under the pressure and influence of some businessmen.

A folk cultural festival has been organized in Darwang since the last week of Chaith and in Beni on the occasion of New Year. Similarly, fairs have been organized in the villages on the occasion of Fagu purnima festival. – RSS
