AGENCY: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24, 2021 – Celebrations, including Holi, have been banned in the Indian capital, New Delhi, as the corona virus infection rate continues to rise.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has decided not to allow any event or conference to be held during Holi and other festivals. NEA has also ordered all district officers to implement the decision. In India, corona infection has been seen in thousands of people daily for the past few weeks. In the last 24 hours, more than 1,100 corona infections have been confirmed in Delhi.

Similarly, four infected people have died. More than 40,000 people were infected in India yesterday. In Maharashtra, India, 25,000 people are infected daily. Pune district in Maharashtra is the most infected and the infection rate in Nagpur has reached a high point. In Uttar Pradesh, too, special vigilance has been issued by issuing orders not to crowd during the Holi festival.
