BHARATPUR: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24, 2021 – A new species of bird has been found in Chitwan. A new species of bird called ‘Lampuchhre Chanchar’ has been found in the riparian area of ​​Chitwan National Park.

This bird was photographed for the first time in Chitwan by Milan Tamang. Ramesh Chaudhary, president of the Bird Association Society Sauraha Chitwan, said that the ‘Lampuchhre Chanchar’ found in Rara, Makalu Barun, Langtang National Park, Annapurna and Kanchanjunga Conservation Area is also found in Chitwan.

Found at an altitude of 1,500 meters to 4,000 meters, this bird has not been seen in Chitwan till now. This bird is registered as a visitor in Shivpuri Nagarjun National Park.

Including this bird, there are now 657 species of birds in Chitwan. The Lampuchhre Chancher is found in Bhutan, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.

Many tourists also come to Chitwan National Park for bird watching. Birds travel long distances from different countries to escape the winter.
