KATHMANDU: TUESDAY, MARCH 23, 2021 – Stakeholders have pointed out that the risk has also increased in Nepal after the second phase of the infection spread in neighboring India.

According to the National Division of Epidemiology and Disease Control, corona infection was confirmed in a person who came to Nepal from India on Sunday. According to Dr. Krishna Poudel Head of Division said, the infection was confirmed in an antigen test on a Nepali who entered Nepal from the western border.

Despite the increase in corona infection rate in India, Nepal is not well prepared. Sagar Rajbhandari says. He said that there is negligence in the effective mechanism to be adopted at the border and public health standards to be adopted within the country.

“Masks are not seen inside the bus, people are seen walking openly on the road,” he said. “Even at the international airport, there is negligence.” Tourists from at-risk countries have also been allowed to go directly to the community without being placed in hotel quarantines. The second phase of corona has spread in India and there have been lockdowns in some states. It is seen that the risk of infection may increase when Nepalis working there come home.
