6,000 monthly for film journalists who have reached 60 years of age
KATHMANDU: Film Journalists Association Nepal has set up a public welfare fund for film journalists. According to the association, a monthly allowance of Rs 6,000 will be given to film journalists above 60 years of age.
The welfare fund has been announced at the 21st annual general meeting of the association. “We have announced the fund as per the plan to give Rs 6,000 per month to film journalists who have reached the age of 60,” said Dinesh Sitaula, president of the Film Journalists Association of Nepal.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung has inaugurated the Journalist Welfare Fund Campaign launched by the Nepal Film Journalists Association Nepal. The fund has been set up with the objective of giving Rs 6,000 monthly allowance to film journalists above 60 years of age and working for the benefit of troubled film journalists.
Film Journalists Association of Nepal has brought the account of the welfare fund into operation.
The association aims to run a campaign for the welfare fund by Jestha 7 and raise the minimum to Rs 1 million to Rs 2 million. Sitaula said that the working procedure for the operation of the welfare fund has also been prepared. He said that the program was brought with the aim of making things easier for the elderly.
