Real Madrid has entered the quarterfinals

KATHMANDU: Spanish club Real Madrid has entered the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Real entered the quarterfinals by defeating Italian club Atalanta.

Real beat Atalanta 3-1 in the second leg of the last 16 of the Champions League at home on Tuesday night. Real also beat Atalanta 4-1 on aggregate to reach the quarterfinals. Atalanta lost 1-0 to Real in the first leg.

Karim Benzema scored in the 34th minute to give Real a 1-0 lead. Sergio Ramos scored from the penalty spot in the 60th minute to give Real a 2-0 lead. But Luis Fernando scored in the 83rd minute to give Atalanta a 2-1 lead. A minute later, Marco Asensio scored to give Real a 3-1 victory.

Real Madrid entered the last eight, while Atalanta dropped out of the last 16.
