President Bhandari’s visit to Bangladesh scheduled
KATHMANDU: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari is scheduled to pay a state visit to neighboring Bangladesh on Chaith 9 and 10.
She is scheduled to pay a two-day visit at the friendly invitation of Bangladesh President Mohammad Abdul Hamid, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday.
President Bhandari will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Foreign Secretary and other senior officials and ministers of the concerned ministries.
President Bhandari is scheduled to attend a special function to mark the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence and the centenary of the founding father of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
During the visit, the President is scheduled to address on ‘Nepal-Bangladesh Relations and the Birth Centenary of Bangabandhu’. President Bhandari is scheduled to hold talks with his counterpart at Bangla Bhawan. Similarly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that it has decided to participate in the state banquet organized by its counterpart.
Likewise, she will visit the National Martyrs’ Memorial at Savar and the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhan Mandi. The participating cultural team in the Nepali delegation will also observe the centenary celebrations in Dhaka.
She is scheduled to meet the Nepali community at a lunch to be held at the Nepali Embassy in honor of the President.
