KATHMANDU: The US-developed Johnson & Johnson vaccine against COVID-19 has been approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO). With the permission of the organization, the vaccine will also be taken in the Covax program.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) on Friday decided to recognize Johnson & Johnson worldwide. This is the first time a single dose of the vaccine has been approved by the organization.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine can be stored at 2 to 8 Degree C. In the third phase test, its effectiveness was found to be 85 percent.
