NMB’s QR code in the vegetable market of Biratnagar

KATHMANDU: NMB Bank has started cashless payment transaction service through QR code in the vegetable and fruit market of Biratnagar. During a formal function organized by the bank, Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari of Nepal Rastra Bank has officially launched the service by purchasing lemons using QR code.

He said that the transaction would facilitate non-cash payments through QR instead of cash.

On the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of NMB Bank KC handed over Rs. 1 million to women entrepreneurs had also provided concession letters for concessional loans. He said that the bank has been cooperating with small and medium entrepreneurs from the past.

“The project is directed towards digitization as directed by Nepal Rastra Bank and aims towards transformation of cashless society,” he said. CEO KC said, “Considering the current environment and security standards, the bank is committed to encourage its customers to use a variety of cashless payment services in the coming days.”

Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank Dr. Nephil Matangi Maskey, Director of Nepal Rastra Bank Biratnagar Satyendra Timilsina, Chairman of Vegetable Fruits and Gudri Market Management Committee Pashupati Bhagat, Young Entrepreneur Pradip Kumar Murarka, Chairman of Biratnagar-11 Trithendra Neupane, Secretary of the Market Management Committee Guddu Saheb and others were present.
