Bank of Kathmandu launches QR code service on passenger buses
KATHMANDU: Bank of Kathmandu has started QR code payment service on various passenger buses. The bank has introduced QR code service for fare collection in 22 buses operated by Eastern Nepal Transport, Kankai Mai Pathibhara Transport and Super Public Service Transport Committee.
On Friday, Ravi Kafle, head of the bank’s provincial office in State No. 1, handed over the QR code to a representative of the transport committee during a function.
As soon as the service starts, all passengers traveling on Eastern Nepal Transport from Kakarbhitta, Birtamod, Damak, Urlabari, Belbari, Biratchowk to Biratnagar and Dharan via Itahari can pay the bus fare by scanning the QR code handed over by Bank of Kathmandu Limited.
Similarly, seven buses operated by Kankai Mai Pathibhara Transport will be able to pay the fare using QR code for passengers traveling from Kakarbhitta, Birtamod, Damak, Urlabari, Belbari, Biratchowk to Biratnagar and Dharan via Itahari.
The bank’s QR code for short-distance transport services can be paid by scanning the QR code on five buses of the Super Public Service Transport Committee running from Kakarbhitta, Birtamod, Damak, Urlabari, Belbari, Biratchowk to Biratnagar and Dharan via Itahari.
