Saints’ activities at Pashupatinath [Photo Feature]
KATHMANDU: The activity of saints has increased in the Pashupati area of Kathmandu. Hundreds of saints have come to celebrate Mahashivaratri on Wednesday.
The saints who have come to celebrate the festival at the Pashupatinath main temple premises since Tuesday evening have been provided with food and dhuni.
Saints especially from India come to Mahashivaratri. It is customary for them to be discharged with Pashupati Area Development Fund.
Uma Acharya, head of Guthi Sansthan’s Pashupati Goshwara office, said that food would be provided at Gorakhnath, Ram Mandir, Nirmal and Bhashmeshwar akhada in Pashupati area from Wednesday morning.
Despite the risk of corona epidemic, saints have come to the Pashupati area to celebrate Mahashivaratri as they did last year, according to the office. Distinguished saints are rarely seen.
