Electricity service cut off when canal collapses

Humla. Citizens of Adanchuli Village Municipality in the lower part of Humla have been living in darkness for the past five days.

Citizens have been living in darkness since March 4 due to power outage. Citizens of the village municipality have been living in darkness as it takes time to repair the canal when a tree falls and the canal collapses.

Harikrishna Jaisi, an aide of the Electricity Office, informed that 20 locals have been assigned to repair the canal since March 4. The locals have to repair the canal to supply electricity within a week. A 10 meter long canal has collapsed due to falling trees.

The 30-kilowatt power transmission canal was damaged due to falling water. The entire settlement of Ward Nos. 4, 5 and 6, including the citizens of Gorapali and Dhakanikuna of Ward 3, has been in darkness due to the power outage. It is said that there is no problem in the power transmission line.
