Kathmandu. The second phase of vaccination campaign against Covid-19 is starting. The first phase of the vaccination campaign was started on 14th of Magh.

The second phase of the campaign will be launched by vaccinating Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Prime Minister Oli is arriving at Tribhuvan Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj at 10 am to get vaccinated.

Earlier, in the second phase, it was announced to vaccinate citizens above 55 years of age, teachers, public transport drivers and co-drivers. In Himalayan districts, everyone above 55 years of age will be vaccinated.

Vaccination is being provided to 16,000 senior citizens in the 20-day vaccination campaign. At this stage, the government is ready to mobilize more than 15,000 manpower and vaccinate 4.2 million.

Covax arrives today
Health Secretary Laxman Aryal has stated that 348,000 vaccines received from the Covax plant will reach Nepal today. The government is preparing to bring 13 million vaccines through the Covax plant.

In the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), only Burma, Sri Lanka and Nepal will be vaccinated through COVAX. Similarly, Secretary Aryal said that the vaccine purchased from the Serum Institute Company of India will also arrive within a week. Earlier, 429,000 people were vaccinated under the first phase of the vaccination campaign.
