Kathmandu. Four players of the Nepali national women’s football team are going to Pakistan today (Friday) to play in the domestic league.
Striker Anita KC, goalkeeper Angela Tumbappo Subba, midfielder Saru Limbu and defender Gita Rana will leave for Pakistan on Friday evening to play in Pakistan’s domestic league ‘National Women’s Women’s Football Championship’.
Masa United Football Club has signed four Nepali players in the league organized by Pakistan Football Federation. They are playing in the international league for the first time. She will also be the female player representing a foreign club after striker Sabitra Bhandari and midfielder Anita Basnet.
Meanwhile, the players who are going to play in the Pakistan League have said that they will leave a positive impression not only for themselves but also for the country. Talking to Makalu Khabar, midfielder Saru Limbu said that it would be a good opportunity for all four of them to play in the tournament.
“After Samba and Anu sisters, we have got the opportunity of foreign league. We will play this opportunity to the best of our ability and name the whole country,” said Saru.
She said that they are enthusiastic to take advantage of this opportunity as it is not only for them but also for Nepal and all Nepali players and the country.
Saru said that the experience of playing in Pakistan for about a month and learning in that course would be useful for the Nepali national team as well.
None of Nepal’s female players have played in Pakistani domestic football. Sabitra and Anita played in the Indian League.
The competition will be held from March 8 to April 3 in Karachi. Nepali players will return to Nepal on April 5.
