Kathmandu. The government has appointed Ram Prasad Acharya as the director general of the revenue investigation department. Acharya, who is working in the Ministry of Defense, has been transferred to the Revenue Investigation Department by the government with the responsibility of the Director General.

Earlier, Director General Dirgharaj Mainali was transferred to the post of Director General of the Inland Revenue Department under the Ministry of Finance.

Mainali has been given the opportunity to work in the Revenue Investigation Department for two years and eight months as the first director general after the government brought the department under the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. During Mainali’s tenure, the Revenue Investigation Department had investigated the major culprits of revenue leakage and achieved good results in the collection of fines and revenue.

On 7 Jestha 2076, the government appointed him Director General of the Revenue Investigation Department. The department has organized a program on Wednesday to welcome the new director general and bid farewell to the old director general.

Acharya has been taking charge as the new director general of the department since Wednesday.
