Arrest warrant issued against Kangana

Agency. Mumbai’s Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court has issued an arrest warrant against actress Kangana Ranaut in a defamation case against Javed Akhtar. An arrest warrant was issued after he failed to appear in court by March 1.

Kangana’s lawyer has filed a writ petition in the court saying that the petition filed by the petitioners was not in accordance with the procedure. Akhtar’s lawyer Brinda Grover has accused Kangana of challenging the process. She argues that Kangana should appear in court after the order of the high court.

Javed Akhtar had filed a writ petition against Kangana alleging that he had spread false propaganda against him and that it had tarnished his honor and reputation. The case will now be heard on March 26.
