Democratic group’s Shrestha winner in Khairhani’s chairmanship
Chitwan. Hira Shrestha has been elected as the president of Khairhani Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In the final result this morning, Shrestha defeated his rival by a wide margin and won the post of chairman.
Shrestha won with 799 votes while his rival Shesh Kumari Oli Sadaula got 476 votes. The panel was formed by a progressive group of businessmen close to the CPN (Maoist) and a democratic group of businessmen close to the Nepali Congress. Out of the 16 elected, only two belong to the progressive group.
Bikram Khadka, Kumar Khanal, Binod Aryal, Kedarnath Bartaula, Kshetra Bahadur Rawal, Prashant Adhikari, Anil Shrestha, Arjun Lamsal and Laxman Niraula have emerged victorious in the commerce category. Lamsal and Niraula belong to the progressive group.
Jagat Bahadur Pandey, Shankar Kandel, Kiran Burlakoti, Krishna Bahadur Shrestha, Anup Adhikari and Bikram Chaudhary have emerged victorious in the industry category.
