Kathmandu. A knife was tied to the leg of a rooster for an illegal cockfighting game in Telangana, India. This rooster has taken the life of its own owner.

The rooster had tried to flee, but his master was seriously injured by a knife tied to his leg. The man was taken to a hospital where he died of excessive bleeding.

Police are searching for 15 others who participated in the program. The cockfight was organized in Lothunur village of Telangana state. The rooster was taken to the police station after the death of the man. From there the rooster is sent to the farm.

According to police, the rooster was being prepared for a fight and at the same time he tried to flee. As it was about to flee, the owner tried to catch the rooster. In the struggle between the two, the owner was injured by a 7 cm (3 inch) long knife tied to the rooster’s leg.

According to the AFP news agency, the people involved in the event have been charged with murder, illegal gambling and cockfighting.

Cockfighting in India was banned in 1960, but it is still fought in some parts of rural Telangana.
