New Feature: YouTube

Kathmandu. YouTube is bringing a new feature so that parents can control and monitor what content their children watch on YouTube.

It is said that YouTube has brought this new feature targeting teenagers who do not want to use the YouTube Kids app and use the main app of YouTube.

The feature is said to be useful for older children who are not satisfied with the content of the YouTube Kids app, which is targeted at children, and because it is not suitable for them to watch all the content of the main app as they are not mature.

Remember that you have to be 13 years old to use the main app of YouTube and there is a separate app called YouTube Kids for children under that age.
According to its latest announcement, YouTube will launch a new feature in the coming days. Through a supervised Google Account, parents will be able to give their children access to YouTube and control and monitor content they watch.

These are 3 different content settings:

1. Explore: This setting will be suitable for kids of all ages to search and watch various additional content on YouTube by exiting YouTube Kids. It is especially targeted at children aged 9 and over. In it, parents can search for content such as tutorials, gaming videos, music clips, news, educational materials and set them up for their children to watch.
2. Explore More: This feature will be especially suitable for children above 13 years of age. In it, children will be able to watch a wide variety of videos and even watch live streams on YouTube.
3. Must of YouTube: In this setting, children can watch almost all kinds of videos on YouTube. However, videos with age restrictions will not be available. In addition, sensitive content that is suitable for older adolescents will also be controlled.

According to YouTube, this feature is designed for parents who have come to the conclusion that their children are able to find and watch their favorite and useful content in the larger world of YouTube.

YouTube has stated in its blog post that it will use user feedback, machine learning and reviews to decide which videos to include in such a feature. In this feature, options like shopping, creation and comments made from YouTube will be disabled.
