Kathmandu. India shutdown has been declared today. India’s trade unions announced a nationwide shutdown on Friday (today)

According to Indian media, the strike was supported by 40 million traders’ unions across India. Traders have reportedly shut down India in protest of the GST tax cut, rising petrol and diesel prices and the e-way law.

The India Transporters Welfare Association has also supported the strike from 6 am to 8 pm. It is said that more than 4 million trade unions across India have supported and participated in the strike. Similarly, traders are said to be staging sit-ins in about 1,500 places across India today.
