Teacher arrested for raping mentally retarded student

Kathmandu. A teacher has been arrested in Dadeldhura on charge of raping a girl student. A teacher of Bhuwaneswari Secondary School in Ganyapadhura Village Municipality-4 has been arrested for raping a mentally retarded 10-year-old girl, police said.

Locals allege that the girl was forcibly raped by a teacher who was teaching at the same school. A 42-year-old teacher living near the school has been accused of raping the girl on Saturday.

According to the locals, the girl’s house is in Shikhar Municipality of Doti and the teacher is also an ideal village head of Doti. According to the police, the girl student and the teacher have been taken to the district headquarters for medical examination and further investigation into the incident.
