10 lakh doses of vaccine arriving from India
Kathmandu. Ten Lakh doses of Covishield vaccine against Covid-19 will arrive in Kathmandu today.
According to Dr. Sameer Kumar Adhikari joint Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population said 10 lakh doses of vaccine have started arriving in Kathmandu from New Delhi, India at 1.30 pm on an Air India flight. He said that 10 lakh doses of vaccine started arriving on Sunday as per the agreement reached with the vaccine manufacturing company Serum Institute of India on Falgun 5.
Earlier, the same vaccine was provided by the Government of India on Magh 8. The vaccine is now being given to frontline employees. Joint Spokesperson of the Ministry Dr. Adhikari said, the vaccine will be stored at the moisture center in Teku from the airport.
The vaccine will be given to senior citizens above 55 years of age from Falgun 23. He said that the vaccines will be distributed to the vaccination centers across the country from the district health office through the state health supply management center. He said that as per the agreement, the remaining vaccine manufacturers will get the supply soon as per the supply schedule proposed by the health service department. Rasas
