Nepal Bangladesh Bank starts business in Chabahil through QR code
Kathmandu. The Chabahil branch of Nepal Bangladesh Bank has started payment through QR code in the vegetable, fruit and clothing shops of Chandra Binayak Park Management Society Chabahil in Kathmandu-7. Nepal Bangladesh Bank inaugurated the event by organizing a function on Friday. The bank has stated that it has started the payment business in collaboration with F One Soft.
With the introduction of digital payments in Nepal, Nepal Rastra Bank plans to expand cashless payments through Quick Response (QR) codes as a nationwide campaign. The service has been launched to make the scheme a success, the bank said.
Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Chintamani Siwakoti distributed QR codes to traders in the area. On the occasion, Deputy Governor Siwakoti had purchased various vegetables and made payment through QR code. Deputy Governor Siwakoti informed about the benefits of safe cashless transactions through digital technology and encouraged the bank to expand its business by availing soft loans provided to small and women entrepreneurs.
Chief Executive Officer of the Bank Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana informed about the services and facilities provided by the bank. The bank has also set up free Wi-Fi in the area in collaboration with World Link Communications for the convenience of customers and merchants.
