Dharan. Doctors of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences have locked the office of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Gyanendra Giri. Doctors said that the promotion process, which had been stalled for three years, was not carried out by the institute officials.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Giri and Principal Prada Guru Khanal have been in Kathmandu for five days.

The doctors have demanded that the faculty should take initiative for the construction of the building to provide accommodation, adjust the rotation of the department heads, spend the money raised for the maintenance of the housing, and give teacher training and research training to the teachers.

After the agitation started, the Vice-Chancellor and other officials had promised to address the demand during the talks held between the society and the establishment officials on Magh 26. But even after more than 10 days, the society has stated that they had to lock up as there was no progress as promised.
