No decision has been taken to revise the consultation fee: Ministry of Health
Kathmandu. The Ministry of Health and Population has said that no decision has been taken yet regarding the revision of doctor’s consultation fee.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry said it had not yet made a decision on revising doctors’ consultation fees.
The ministry said the decision was the sole decision of the Nepal Medical Association and the Association of Private Health Institutions Nepal (AFIN).
“It is informed that the Ministry alone does not agree with the increased consultation fee by the Nepal Medical Association and AFIN,” the statement said.
The consultation fee recommendation committee formed by the ministry has stated that there is no possibility of increasing the consultation fee as the ministry has not yet decided on the fee revision recommended by the ministry.
The ministry is also ready to discuss the issue with private sector doctors, nurses and health workers.
A joint meeting of the Nepal Medical Association and the Association of Private Health Institutions Nepal (AFIN) on Tuesday decided to increase the doctor’s consultation fee with effect from Tuesday.
