Kathmandu. With the rise in prices of petroleum products, transport businessmen have demanded fare adjustment and automation.

Stating that the daily price hike in the name of automatic price of petroleum products is shameful, the businessmen have demanded the government to adjust the transport fare.

Saroj Sitaula, general secretary of the National Federation of Nepali Transport Entrepreneurs, said that they have already issued a statement to the government as there has been no fare adjustment since 2069 BS and the transport sector is in disarray.

“Twice a week, the price of petroleum products has gone up, and transport businessmen have been hit hard.” Secretary General Sitaula told Makalu Khabar, “If we do not comply with the repeated demands, we will take a concrete decision at a meeting of the federation’s executive secretariat on Magh 8.”

Secretary General Sitaula said that if the issue of rent adjustment is still ignored, it will be necessary to move ahead in a concrete manner.
