Bhagarathi murder case: Police claim that the accused has confessed to the murder

Kathmandu. Police have claimed that Dinesh Bhatta, who was arrested for raping and killing 17-year-old Bhagarathi Bhatta of Chadepani in Dogadakedar Village Municipality-7 of Baitadi, has confessed to the crime.

Speaking at a press conference at the District Police Office, Baitadi on Wednesday, DIG Uttam Subedi said that no one else was involved in Bhagarathi’s murder.

“Looking at the nature of the scene and the activities he can do, it doesn’t look like a 16-year-old boy can rape and kill a 17-year-old girl,” said DIG Subedi, “Investigations have shown that he was involved alone. Now that reports from the forensic lab have come in, we can find out more.”

According to the police, the evidence was based on the statement given by Bhatta and the address given by the technical investigation.
