The accused used to protest for Bhagarathi’s justice
Kathmandu. Police have arrested a teenager on charge of killing Bhagarathi Bhatta of Baitadi Dogadakedar Village Municipality-7. The teenager, who is studying in class 11 at the school where Bhagarathi is studying, has been arrested by the police.
According to District Police Chief DSP Narayan Prasad Adhikari, the man had confessed to killing Bhagarathi while returning from school. He is also a neighbor and relative of Bhagarathi. DSP Adhikari informed that they are preparing to make him public through a press conference at 12 noon.
“The arrested teenager has confessed to the crime. He has given a statement that he was strangled to death due to domestic resentment. We will give detailed information about that receipt through the press conference, ‘he said.
Demonstrations for justice were attended: After Bhagarathi’s murder, voices were raised to arrest the culprit in Baitadi and give her justice. The murder was also seen in demonstrations and rallies for justice. “The arrested Bhatta himself used to take part in the protest for Bhagarathi’s justice,” said the DSP. “However, he was suspected by the police and Bhagarathi’s family. He was eventually convicted. ‘
The body of 17-year-old teenaged girl Bhagarathi of Chadepani of Dogadakedar Village Municipality-7 was found in a bush 100 meters below the road in Lovelek forest of Khochlek-Chadepani rural road section on Magh 22. She had gone to school at 10 in the morning on the 21st. Her body was found the next day.
