Record striker Bhandari can’t play for a year!

Kathmandu. Record national football player Sabitra Bhandari ‘Samba’ has been unable to play football for a year.

She was playing for the APF Club of the Armed Police Force in the domestic league when she was injured during a match against the Nepal Police Club on Monday.

While trying to score, Sabitra’s knee ligament has been torn. Physio Nabina Shrestha informed that she had to undergo surgery. Doctors have said that she will not be able to play for about a year as the wound is serious.

Sabitra has scored 38 goals for Nepal so far. This is the highest number of goals scored by any player in Nepal.

In the National Women’s League, Sabitra’s team APF is at the top with 30 points. She has scored 43 goals in the ongoing league.
