No decision has been made on women’s foreign trips
Kathmandu. The Immigration Department has clarified that no decision has been taken on the issue of requiring the recommendation of the family and the ward when a woman under 40 goes abroad alone. The department has clarified that suggestions have been received from the internal investigation task force but no decision has been taken so far.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the department said that it has drawn serious attention to the news in various media. “By amending the internal procedures, for the first time in a high-risk country, a decision has been made to require a recommendation from family members or the local level when Nepali women go on a visit visa,” the statement said.
The department also says that decisions on issues of public concern will be made in such a way that the fundamental rights of the citizens will not be frustrated considering the constitutional rights, global recognition, public opinion and ease of implementation.
