16 Malamis rescued in Mahakali

Kanchanpur. Bhim Dutta Municipality-12 Bhujelghat-based Mahakali River has rescued 16 Malamis trapped in the river.
The water was released into the Mahakali River to clean a power house run by NHPC in Tanakpur, Uttarakhand, India.
Amar Bahadur Thapa Chhetri, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, said that a team of police from Disaster Management Gulm, Mahendranagar rescued Malami after receiving information that he was trapped in the middle of the river.
It is said that India released water from the power house without any prior notice.
