Traffic management in the valley is busy

Kathmandu. Traffic management in Kathmandu Valley has been chaotic since morning. Traffic management has been disrupted due to demonstrations and protest rallies by the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Prachanda-Nepal group.

Traffic has been affected as processions have started from various places for the protest rally and a stage has been set up on the main road at Pradarshani Marg. Spokesperson of the Metropolitan Traffic Police SP Shyam Krishna Adhikari informed that the diversion has been started since this morning in an effort to manage the traffic.

Heavy vehicles are completely barred from entering the Chakrapath while large vehicles are stopped around the Chakrapath. “We have not allowed large and public vehicles to enter all the roads where the procession starts,” the official said. “It is not possible to allow large vehicles to enter the ring road.”

Small vehicles coming to Kalimati, Thapathali, Lanchaur, Ratna Park and Putalisadak areas have also been diverted. Similarly, vehicles going to Ratna Park through Durbar Marg via Nagpokhari, Jaynepal Hall were barred from entering from Durbar Marg by the police, said a spokesperson.

Diverting vehicles from the main road has also increased the pressure on the alternative roads. Due to which the passengers have suffered and the traffic has been affected.
