Sheep and goats vaccinated against PPR
Khotang. A vaccination campaign has been launched to control PPR disease in goats and sheep reared by farmers of Diprung Chuichumma village. A weekly campaign has been launched in all the seven wards of the village to vaccinate the sheep and goats reared by the farmers every year.
Sargam Budathoki, coordinator of the agriculture branch of the village, said that the village has started vaccinating goats and sheep against PPR in collaboration with Diktel, the liaison office of the Veterinary Hospital and Veterinary Center, Udayapur, under the National PPR Day. Currently, veterinary technicians are vaccinating goats and sheep against PPR in all the seven wards of the village municipality.
Village head Bhupendra Rai said that arrangements have been made to vaccinate goats and sheep against PPR, which can spread as an epidemic. “Last year, about 300 sheep reared by the farmers in the village municipality died,” he said. Rasas
