Investment Bank awards Rs 1 million to Ketu Himal climbers
Kathmandu. Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) has honored the Mount K2 Himal climbers. The bank has honored the Nepali team climbing Mount K2 by organizing a program at the head office.
A team of 10 Nepali climbers led by Nirmal Purja set a new world record as the first Nepali to climb the world’s second highest mountain, Mount K2, in Pakistan in winter. K2, who has the nickname of ‘Cruel Mountain’, is considered to be the hardest to conquer by climbing. Even in winter, it was considered impossible to climb the mountain.
The Nepali climbers hoisted the Nepali flag on the top of the mountain at 5 pm local time on 3 Magh 2077.
At the concluding ceremony, Bank Chairman Prithvi Bahadur Pandey, board members and senior managers handed over a check of Rs 1 million to the climbing team. The Bank has also thanked the team for making Nepal proud. The climbing team has been honored under the Bank’s Institutional Social Responsibility Sister (CSR).
