Vaccinated less than half of the target

Kathmandu. In the first phase of the vaccination campaign run by the government, less than half of the target has been vaccinated. In the first phase of the campaign, the government was preparing to vaccinate 430,000 people against COVID-19.

However, the ministry had added one more day to the first phase of the campaign after only 171,000 people were vaccinated till Friday. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 184,857 people have been vaccinated till Saturday evening, the last day of the vaccination campaign.

According to the ministry, 24,224 in Province 1, 25,637 in Province 2, 63,308 in Bagmati, 18,472 in Gandaki, 28,941 in Lumbini, 9,420 in Karnali and 14,855 in the Far West.

The government had started administering 1 million doses of vaccine on the frontline within 10 days as per the plan. In the first phase, health workers, cleaners, ambulance drivers, inmates and senior citizens in old age homes have been vaccinated.
